Who Wouldn’t Want to be Me

Monday fun day

The quote “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” comes to mind when I listen to “Who Wouldn’t Want to be Me” by Keith Urban.  With lyrics such as ‘The Sun is shining, My troubles behind me, I’m alive and I’m free, Who wouldn’t wanna be me’ this song makes me feel free of worry.  Life shouldn’t be measured by how much money you have in your pockets or by the types of clothes you wear, as all of those things are superficial and meaningless in the end.  It should be measured by how the perception of your own self-worth, perception of your environment and how you feel on a day to day basis.  Is the glass half full or half empty?  This statement may be cliche, but it is very true.  Who or what is in control of your life today? Is it yourself or another person, spouse, friend, son, daughter, alcohol, meth, heroin, etc.. Evaluate what you are doing today and why are you doing it.  Is there anything that could make your day better or allow you to feel better about yourself?  What kind of things can you do to make sure you recognize the sun when it’s shining, leave your troubles behind you and live free?

“Who Wouldn’t Want to be Me”

I got no money in my pockets
I got a hole in my jeans
I had a job and I lost it
But it won’t get to me

‘Cause I’m ridin’ with my baby
and it’s a brand new day
We’re on the wheels of an angel
Flyin’ away

And the sun is shinin’
This road keeps windin’
Through the prettiest country
From Georgia to Tennessee
And I got the one I love beside me
My troubles behind me
I’m alive and I’m free
Who wouldn’t wanna be me

Now she’s strummin’ on my six-string
Across her pretty knees
She’s stompin’ out a rhythm
And singin’ to me the sweetest song

The sun is shinin’
And this road keeps windin’
Through the prettiest country
From Georgia to Tennessee
And I got the one I love beside me
My troubles behind me
I’m alive and I’m free
Who wouldn’t wanna be me

The sun is shinin’
And this road’s still windin’
Through the prettiest country
From Georgia to Tennessee
And I got the one I love beside me
My troubles behind me
I’m alive and I’m free
Who wouldn’t wanna be me

I got no money in my pockets
I got a hole in my jeans
We’re on the wheels of an angel
And I’m free
She’s strummin’ on my six-string
It’s across her pretty knees
She’s stompin’ out a rhythm
And she’s singin’ to me
