Have you been on a wild ride, running from emotional, and mental anguish? At some point, you will get to a point where there is no more places to hide, and you will have to face the adversity in your life.
As an alcoholic, I was truly born to run. I would drink to hide from my problems, and used it as a ‘solution’ to my problems. Getting drunk never led me to a solution, and all it did was exasperate my problems. All of those years I thought I was hiding from others, I was actually hiding from myself (emotionally and mentally).
I have been born again over the last 5 1/2 years in my addiction recovery. There are bumps in the road still, but those mountains have turned into mound hills. Now I run towards improving myself, and those around me.
Enjoy Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, and how I have related it to Addiction Recovery.
